David asked:

A few months ago, I had a Wilson Ultra football. The first time I have, that was incredibly grippy. Now, after a week of use in fields of grass, sometimes muddy, the ball is now incredibly slippery to the point that it is impossible to pump-fake. I bought another ball, Nike 1205. This is far better, and has not lost much tackiness yet, but I am interested in preventing further diversion. Is there any way to keep a sticky football? Any way to clean it? Avoid extreme weather?
