Is it ALL just hockey with a hockey stick, only one uses roller skates, one uses ice skates & one is on the ground, on a field? And what’s the difference between these sports & lacrosse?

Also, would anyone know where an 8 year old girl can play any of these sports (particularly field hockey or lacrosse) in Suffolk County, New York?
